Great news US viewers! BBC America president, Sarah Barnett, confirmed that the final season of Broadchurch is coming to America in March.
During the Television Critics Association panel, BBC America president Sarah Barnett has confirmed that the final instalment of Broadchurch will premiere in March. However, the specific date has not been announced yet.
Earlier this month, ITV also announced that Broadchurch will return in February but has yet to get an official airdate. In the meantime, ITV Encore is airing repeats of Broadchurch Series 1 and 2 every Sunday at 10PM until February 26th.
About Broadchurch 3
David Tennant and Olivia Colman will reprise their roles as DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller. Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan return to play Beth and Mark Latimer along with Arthur Darvill as local Vicar Paul Coates, Carolyn Pickles as newspaper editor Maggie Radcliffe and Adam Wilson as Ellie’s son Tom.
Also joining Tennant and Colman are award-winning Coronation Street star Julie Hesmondhalgh, BAFTA winner Georgina Campbell, Charlie Higson and Mark Bazeley along with Sarah Parish, Lenny Henry and Roy Hudd.
This third series explores the consequences of a serious sexual assault as a Dorset community comes under the scrutiny of Hardy and Miller’s investigation. Based on a year of research with Dorset-based organisations who specialise in dealing with victims of sexual assault as well as police advisors who specialise in investigating crimes of sexual violence, Broadchurch’s final chapter looks at the emotional cost to all of those involved and the irreparable damage to friendships and relationships.
