World War II drama Spies of Warsaw comes to Australian television this weekend.
David Tennant stars as Colonel Jean- François Mercier, the dashing French military attache and part-time secret operative.
It’s 1937, and Poland lives in the shadow of Hitler’s Nazi regime.The threat of a new war hangs over Europe.
French military attache Mercier (David Tennant) becomes suspicious of Hitler’s military intentions, but his goverment superiors aren’t convinced.
Acting on information from his informants, Mercier undertakes a dangerous mission to gather proof that Germany intends to invade Poland and start a new war.
Juggling his formal diplomatic duties with secret espionage missions, Mercier finds himself attracted to League of Nations lawyer Anna Skarbek (Janet Montgomery), the lover of a Russian emigre journalist. But will his relationship with Anna endanger his mission and his life?
