Marvel’s Jessica Jones star, Krysten Ritter, is staying busy with her first novel, Bonfire, but she finds a little time to reflect on her career.
Ritter talked to Metro about how her first book came to be, “doing the book was a way to almost build a role for myself rather than wait for a film or TV offer to come in“ Ritter is a fan of thrillers and confesses that it took her 2 years to finish the first draft.
Before becoming an actress, Ritter started her career as a model for magazines like Seventeen. She remembers being alienated for being a model, “I was scouted when I was a teenager and if you’re different at school, sometimes that’s not a good thing”
When comes to Netflix/Marvel hit show, Jessica Jones, Ritter has fond memories working David Tennant (which Tennant’s character, Kilgrave, will return in season 2), “I love him. He’s a good egg and so talented. He’s a dream to work with. He’ll do a scene differently every take because he’s so well prepared — I learned a lot”
It was announced earlier this year that Tennant and Ritter will reunite once again in a stage play adaptation of “Fuddy Meers” which Ritter reveals that she’s trying to raise money for the film at the moment.
