Last night, held its 2012 Awards Concert.

David Tennant and Catherine Tate’s Much Ado About Nothing was honoured with two awards. Much Ado garnered 26.8% of the vote for Best Shakespearean Production and 30.2% of the vote for The AKA Theatre Event of the Year.  David Tennant himself was placed third in the Best Actor In A Play Award with 22.7% of the vote behind Benedict Cumberbatch for Frankenstein who had 27.2% of the vote and the winner James Corden for One Man, Two Guvnors with 30.7%.  Josie Rourke was fourth in The Oakley Capital Best Director category; the best director award was won by Danny Boyle for Frankenstein. Catherine Tate was also a winner but not for Much Ado, picking up the Best Supporting Actress In A Play Award with 30.7% of the vote for her performance in Season’s Greetings.  All of the details and stats can be found on awards website located here.
