Last night, WhatsOnStage.com held its 2012 Awards Concert.

 

David Tennant and Catherine Tate’s Much Ado About Nothing was honoured with two awards. Much Ado garnered 26.8% of the vote for Best Shakespearean Production and 30.2% of the vote for The AKA Theatre Event of the Year.  David Tennant himself was placed third in the Best Actor In A Play Award with 22.7% of the vote behind Benedict Cumberbatch for Frankenstein who had 27.2% of the vote and the winner James Corden for One Man, Two Guvnors with 30.7%.  Josie Rourke was fourth in The Oakley Capital Best Director category; the best director award was won by Danny Boyle for FrankensteinCatherine Tate was also a winner but not for Much Ado, picking up the Best Supporting Actress In A Play Award with 30.7% of the vote for her performance in Season’s Greetings.  All of the details and stats can be found on WhatsOnStage.com awards website located here.

 

In addition to the final results, WhatsOnStage.com has posted some of the acceptance speeches from last night’s awards.  In particular, the pre-recorded acceptances from Catherine Tate both for her own award and the Much Ado About Nothing awards were posted.
