Steve Furst, David Tennant, Colin Firth - St. Trinian's 2

St. Trinian’s 2: The Legend Of Fritton’s Gold has its UK terrestrial television premiere tonight on Channel 4 at 7pm. David Tennant stars as the evil (although we prefer to think of him as 'misunderstood') Sir Piers Pomfrey who, as the leader of the women-hating organisation AD1, finds himself up against the anarchic pupils of St. Trinian’s School.

Channel 4 say:

Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson return to direct this sequel, joined once again by leads Rupert Everett, Colin Firth and Talulah Riley, along with newcomer David Tennant.

This time around, the boarding school's anarchic female students discover newly appointed head girl Annabelle Fritton (Riley) had a 16-century nautical ancestor who 'acquired' a rather large treasure trove on the high seas.

The girls have one of the keys to finding its location, but also determinedly on trail of the Spanish loot is the devious and amoral Sir Piers Pomfrey (Tennant). But Pomfrey's not alone in his desire to stymie the girls' ambitions - they must also deal with a mysterious misogynistic cult, which is equally keen to stop them.

Also starring Gemma Arterton, Jodie Whittaker and Juno Temple.
