Series Two Of Twenty Twelve Returns Tonight
Series two of Twenty Twelve returns to BBC Two tonight with 'Catastrophisation' the first of the final ever three episodes. David Tennant, as ever, provides a dry narration to the spoof fly-on-the -wall documentary follwing the Olympic Deliverance Committee as they enter the final 32 days before the London 2012 open. Hugh Bonneville stars as Ian Fletcher, the head of the committee, with his team Amelia Bullmore, Morven Christie, Samuel Barnett, Karl Theobald and Vincent Franklin, with Jessica Hynes as Siobhan Sharpe of inept PR company Perfect Curve. Olivia Colman is due to return to the series in later episodes.
Thirty two days to go, and with Head of Deliverance Ian Fletcher chairing the final ever meeting of the Twenty Twelve Security Committee's Special Catastrophisation Unit, it emerges that someone has been caught converting official Olympic starting pistols to fire live rounds. With the US Security Forward Team about to arrive to review security arrangements for the Games, the challenge is to find a way of handling this piece of news that doesn't involve shooting themselves in the foot.
Meanwhile Kay Hope continues her one woman quest to find a Sustainable use for the Stadium post Games, and Siobhan Sharpe and her team at Perfect Curve take on the task of re-branding the Twenty Twelve Travel Advice Pack in such a way that no-one will ever have to read it.

The second series of Twenty Twelve was spit in two, with the first four episodes broadcast this spring, partly so the final episodes could be produced as close to the start of the real-life Games as possible and partly to allow for Hugh Bonneville's commitments to ITV's Downton Abbey. Rumour is that members of the real Olympics organising body have said that the fictional events of Twenty Twelve are at times eerily similar to their own experiences!
Watch Twenty Twelve - Catastrophisation on BBC Two and BBC HD tonight at 10.00pm. The episode is repeated on Sunday 15th July on BBC Two and BBC HD at 11.30pm
