Last night the 36th Olivier Awards with Mastercard was held at the Royal Opera House in London. The evening’s celebrations was broadcast on BBC Radio 2, on TV via BBC Red Button from any BBC TV channel. And also for the very first time, the event was streamed live on the Olivier Website.
The Donmar Warehouse’s production of Eugene O’Neill’s Anna Christie has won the 2012 Olivier Award for Best Revival beating out David Tennant and Catherine Tate’s Much Ado About Nothing.
The bigger winner for the evening was Matilda the Musical, which picked up six award including Best New Musical. Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller picked up the Best Actor award for Frankenstein.
