David Tennant and Marc Wootton on the Nativity 2 set Pic: Phil Blagg

New filming pictures from Nativity 2 have appeared on Wales Online today. The shots of David Tennant, Marc Wootton and some of the young cast were taken by photographer Phil Blagg during filming on November 3rd at Llanrhaeadr Falls close to the Welsh border and appeared in the most recent print edition of local newspaper the Powys County Times. Some of the pictures show Marc’s character Mr. Poppy carrying class teacher Mr. Peterson, played by David, across a cold, fast-flowing river. The report in the County Times described the filming conditions as difficult and stressful, but this was in part down to the cold and damp weather, a supposedly trained donkey refusing to follow instructions and time constraints: Marc Wootton was due to leave early to travel to Stratford for his penultimate appearance as Bottom in the RSC’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and eventually had to leave the set at a dash already 40 minutes late.

The slideshow of pictures also includes shots from filming on Lake Vyrnwy a couple of days earlier as Marc and David manoeuvred the yellow Duck Tours bus through the water.
