David Tennant will be a special guest on the Janice Forsyth Show on BBC Radio Scotland this Saturday, 7th July, from 10.05am.

Presenter Janice told DT Forum that David was appearing for “General chat/return appearance 'cos my show is ending a week later and he was my guest in 2005, just before the announcement that he was the next Doctor Who.”

Janice’s hugely popular Saturday show, described as “a lively mix of current releases and classic hits with celebrity guests” has run for 18 years, but earlier this year it was announced that the programme was to be axed to make room for more daytime sport and news coverage. The move has angered listeners across Scotland and beyond, and the campaign to save the show has been supported by the likes of Edwyn Collins (frontman of Orange Juice), Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, writer Ian Rankin and Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. Even Hollywood-based Scots actor Alan Cumming has leant his support to a petition in protest of the BBC’s move. Sadly the protests fell on deaf ears and the Janice Forsyth Show finishes on Saturday 14th July.

Janice gave DT Forum a snippet about David’s last appearance, which featured a bonus guest. “When he was on before, his dad [Sandy McDonald] phoned in and I asked him to do a one minute review of David Tennant in Look Back In Anger.” she said, “Which he did, brilliantly!”

Listen to the penultimate Janice Forsyth Show on BBC Radio Scotland on Saturday 7th July from 10.05am via the BBC Radio Scotland iPlayer console. David is expected to be on around 10.15am
