The WhoVerse Team (Kasteborous.com, Who_News.com & the DT Forum) raised £609.00 for Sport Relief smashing their goal £500. BRILLIANT!!
We also got a few stories and pictures from our brilliant team members.
Nichola (shown with her medal in our lead-in picture) was only planning to do 3 miles and so caught up in the event she did 6 miles instead. She also got a high five from David Tennant himself.
Nicola’s account of the day’s events:
Best bit happened to me. My wave was the one with David in it and I was walking the route when spotted David on the other side. He was high fiving people and gave me one too. Definitely gave me a boost. When finished and collected medal (posted below), David was having his interview with Richard Hammond. And I could be seen in the picture. I am next to the girls with Simon Cowbell masks. Just behind David. He kept waving at us and when he went did a high five to everyone and went.
I am achy today but it was well worth would definitely recommend it when it’s on again
Another member of team, didn’t feel that there was a enough exercise on Sunday and so ….
I had a lovely day, even caught the sun… And rejoined Zumba classes tonight… And the total raised is still rising…
Mel, our Forum Moderator who ran The One Show 1000 Challenge earlier in the week (Read her account here), also ran her local Sport Relief Mile . As always, she was dressed up for the event. We love it.
According to Mel
Mile done and it was like a summers day.
I did one mile, as did my mum and 2 cousins.
But when I told my 2 sons and my hubby we had passed the £500 mark they said. “Then we do the extra mile.”
So her two sons did 2 miles and her husband did 3 miles.
And we think this other competitor may have given them an extra boost.
Well done, everyone! We are really proud of you all.

Aside: I was asked for my account of the mile. Since I’m training for the marathon, I couldn’t run the race. Too close to my London Marathon. Instead I ran an 18 mile training run and supported the team in spirit as well as financially.
